Privacy Policy

1. What this covers
This policy describes how PickFu, Inc. (“Sayso”, “we”) handles your information when you use the Sayso panel — the website, the app, and the surveys you answer through them. Our Terms of Service govern your account itself.
2. What we collect
- Account details — your email address, name, date of birth, gender, and country, collected when you sign up.
- Profile answers — the demographic and lifestyle questions you choose to answer so surveys can be matched to you. Answering them is optional; more answers mean more matches.
- Survey responses — the answers you submit, and quality signals about them (for example, whether an attention check was passed).
- Phone verification — if you verify your phone number, we check it with our verification provider and then store a one-way cryptographic hash of the number, its country, and the verification date. We do not store the number itself.
- Earnings and payout records — your credit ledger, balance, and payout history.
- Usage and device data — product analytics about how the app is used, standard log data such as IP address, and a referral cookie (kept for 90 days) when you arrive through an invite link.
3. How we use it
- matching you to surveys you are likely to qualify for;
- crediting your earnings and delivering payouts;
- running quality review and keeping fraudulent accounts out of the panel, so honest answers stay worth real money;
- sending you the notifications you have turned on — new surveys, earnings receipts, and occasional panel announcements;
- supporting you when something goes wrong;
- understanding how the product is used so we can improve it.
4. What we share, and with whom
Customers who commission surveys receive your answers together with relevant demographic context (for example, age range, gender, or a trait the survey targeted) — never your name, email address, or contact details.
Service providers process data on our behalf to run the service: WorkOS (sign-in), Postmark (email), Tremendous (payout delivery), Twilio (phone verification), Cloudflare (security and performance), PostHog (product analytics), Sanity (site content), and Amazon Web Services (hosting). Each receives only what its job requires.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and integrity of the panel.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile is anonymized: your name, contact details, birth date, profile answers, and devices are removed or unlinked. Records we are required to keep — such as payout and ledger history — are retained in anonymized form for accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes.
6. Your choices and rights
- Notifications — email and push can each be turned off any time in your settings.
- Profile answers — you can change or clear them any time on your profile page.
- Deletion — you can delete your account from your settings, which anonymizes it as described above.
- Access and copies — email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you or to request a copy, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you rights to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. The mechanisms above are how to exercise those rights; we honor them for all panelists, wherever you live.
7. Security
Passwords are stored only as modern one-way hashes, phone numbers only as one-way hashes, payout redemption links are encrypted at rest, and access to production systems is restricted and audited. No system is perfectly secure — if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Age limit
Sayso is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
